Nestled in the hills of Jefferson County, Ohio, our 11-acre farmstead is dedicated to promoting independence, sustainability, and respectful animal husbandry.
We raise Boer goats, Heritage poultry breeds, and Registered American Guinea Hogs (AGH) in a pasture-based environment. Every aspect of the farm reflects a commitment to hardy livestock, sustainable practices, and a way of life our grandparents—and great-grandparents—would recognize and appreciate.
History is alive and well here. From the pre-1900 farmhouse and heirloom vegetable garden to the heritage livestock roaming the pastures, we honor traditional values and agricultural practices every day.
We strive to grow healthy food naturally by avoiding chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides whenever possible. Instead, we focus on methods that support healthy soil, healthy animals, and healthy food for both our family and yours.
Self-sufficiency is a guiding principle on our farm. The barn is powered by solar energy and supplied with water from a rain catchment system. Our home is heated with responsibly harvested firewood and served by its own well. A small hay meadow, along with bartered resources, provides winter feed for our animals. The garden, orchard, pasture, and beehives contribute much of the food we enjoy throughout the year, and each season brings new opportunities to become even more self-reliant.
Our weekend farm stand (weather permitting) offers a selection of farm products and gives visitors a chance to support a lifestyle that was once commonplace throughout rural America.
Whenever possible, we choose herbal and natural approaches to health and wellness. At the same time, every animal entrusted to our care receives prompt veterinary attention when needed. Spending time among the animals and walking the pastures each day is an essential part of responsible stewardship.
We invite you to visit and experience farm life for yourself. Pet the goats and miniature horses, hold a baby pig, pick fresh blackberries, or simply stroll through the yard and pastures with us. Discover firsthand the rewards of a slower, more sustainable way of living.
